Individual Therapy

Understanding Your Struggles

You’ve been feeling more overwhelmed than ever. Something just doesn’t feel right. As stressful as it was in the past, it feels much more challenging now; easily irritable, constant anxiety, low mood, poor/increased appetite. Sleeping has been disturbed and your communication with those around you have also been negatively impacted. There may be less interest in doing things and an overall apathy.

You're Not Alone

This is how millions of people feel, too. Finding the right therapist can change all that. Improving all these issues is hard to do on your own. Being stuck in your own head is stifling and debilitating. It may even get you to feel more confused and burned out.

The Therapeutic Relationship

I am happy to have a brief consultation over the phone before the initial appointment to determine if we will be a good fit for one another. Once we agree to meet again, we’ll go ahead and talk about the reason you decided to seek therapy out now, what you have been struggling with, as well as some initial goals for therapy. I also like to get a sense of what previous therapy experiences have been like for you. Once you decide to move forward, I will schedule you at the next available time. For the moment, all appointments will be conducted virtually. The first session can range from 60-90 minutes, with follow-up sessions around 50-60 minutes. All necessary documentation will be completed at the initial session. Longer follow-up sessions are an option.

Expressing Your Thoughts & Feelings

With the two of us in the therapeutic space, you have the opportunity to express all those thoughts and feelings that are stuck inside. This may even be the first time you’ve done this. Hearing the words out loud and having them reflected brings about a totally different perspective that is hard to recognize on your own. Continuing to ignore only maintains what you’ve been trying to cope with all this time.

Collaborative Healing

With your collaboration, my intention is to help you live a richer life and improve the management of the symptoms that are getting in your way. I welcome you to share anything on your mind so that all those feelings that are tucked away are dealt with properly. Through the therapy process together, you will learn to feel better by becoming a more active player in your life.

Goals for Therapy

My hope is that you live a more content life with fewer emotional struggles; enhanced communication and relationships; greater positive perspective of the world around you; learn to thrive in spite, not despite, what you have experienced.

Take the First Step

I encourage you to reach out and schedule our meeting together. Remember, the first call is the hardest. Once it’s done, the process has now begun.
